Friend - At Earthjustice we often say that when we take on legal fights we are in them for the long haul. Our work to ban the brain-harming pesticide, chlorpyrifos, is a perfect example.

I'm following up on the email I wrote to you last month about the Trump administration's decision to keep using this toxic pesticide on our food, even though it's known to harm children's brains and endanger farmworkers. In that email I told you we would take the administration to court -- and this week, we did.

The EPA has repeatedly found chlorpyrifos unsafe, especially for children, yet time and again refuses to take any action to protect our kids. But Earthjustice and our clients won't stand for this. The science and the law call for a chlorpyrifos ban. We are taking the Trump administration to court for its defiance of the law and science.

We've been fighting the reckless use of pesticides for decades, and thanks to the support of people like you, we're not stopping now.

I wish I had better news to share.

Today, the Trump administration announced its decision to keep using the toxic pesticide chlorpyrifos on our food, even though it's known to harm children's brains.

This is a blatant handout to chemical companies at the expense of public health. By allowing this pesticide to stay in our fruits and vegetables, Trump's EPA is breaking the law and neglecting the overwhelming scientific evidence that chlorpyrifos damages children's brains and endangers farmworkers. We will challenge this decision in court.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in states like Hawaiʻi and New York are showing the rest of the country that banning this dreadful pesticide is not only possible, but inevitable. We will take on the Trump administration's defiance of the law and science and move forward to get statewide bans in the meantime.

We've been fighting the reckless use of pesticides for decades, and, thanks to the support of people like you, we're not stopping now.
