We want to take a moment to THANK YOU, the ASPCA community, for your continued support and compassion for animals in need.

Currently, 120 mistreated dogs and puppies are in our care at an emergency shelter after being removed from a breeding operation in Union County, Florida, over a week ago. The dogs—including Great Danes, French and English Bulldogs, and Chinese Cresteds—were seized from the property of a breeder after they were observed living in extremely unsanitary conditions. Sadly, many of the dogs appeared to be underweight and some had untreated medical conditions.

Immediately following their rescue, multiple dogs needed emergency medical care for severe wounds and other trauma-related injuries. Many of these animals will also need ongoing care for eye, skin and other medical conditions.

With new routines and care, these dogs are settling in well to our shelter, and our staff is starting to see more dogs using their beds and resting comfortably during the day. They are also all starting to learn how to walk on a leash and continue to adjust to the day-to-day activities provided at this temporary shelter.

Urgent cases like this are never easy—and in the last 30 days alone, we’ve assisted with the rescue of nearly 300 animals! It's thanks to animal lovers like you that we are able to be there for vulnerable animals at a moment’s notice. And today, you can still take action to support these efforts and all our lifesaving efforts for animals facing crises or cruelty.
