Weekend Service Impacts

* *Routes 10 and 11* will be rerouted during the closure of Pike Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue from 8 to 3 p.m. daily on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24;
* *Route 12* to Interlaken Park will be rerouted off of E Madison Street between 12th Avenue and 16th Avenue from Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. to Tuesday, March 26 at 6 a.m. due to construction;
* *Route 13* will be rerouted in both directions off a portion of Queen Anne Avenue N and W McGraw Street during the Queen Anne Little League Parade from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23;
* *Routes 24 and 31* will be rerouted during the Magnolia Little League Parade from 7a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23;
* *Route 24* will be affected in both directions during closure of W Government Way on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day due to construction;
* *Routes 70 and ST 545* will be rerouted off a portion of Stewart Street; Stop #940 at Stewart Street & 9th Avenue will be missed on Sunday, March 24 until 8 p.m. due to construction;
* *Route 225* will be rerouted in both directions off NE 132nd Street and a portion of 116th Way NE from Friday, March 22 at 9 p.m. through Monday, March 25 at 5 a.m. due to construction;
* *Routes ST 542 and ST 545* to Redmond will be rerouted; Stop #71353 at SR 520 & NE 51st Street (N) will be missed from Monday, March 25 to Thursday, March 28 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. due to construction;
* *Routes 101, 150, ST 545, ST 550 and ST 554* will be rerouted during the closure of 4th Avenue between Columbia Street and Marion Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 due to construction;
* *Routes 43, 48, 255, 271, and ST* *542* will be affected by the closure of Montlake Boulevard E from Friday, March 22 at 10 p.m. to Monday, March 25 at 5 a.m. due to construction;
* *Routes 45, 67, 75, and 372* will be rerouted off of the University of Washington campus during cherry blossom festivities, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24;

King County Metro will update and improve bus schedules starting March 30

Starting Saturday, March 30, Metro will update bus schedules while maintaining the current frequent, safe and reliable service riders count on. 

Details are posted on Metro’s *March 2024 service change web page [ [link removed] ]* and are also available in multiple languages, including: 简体中文 [ [link removed] ] (Simplified Chinese), Русский (Russian) [ [link removed] ], Español (Spanish) [ [link removed] ] and Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese) [ [link removed] ]. 

Schedule updates for travel dates after March 30 will be available on Metro’s Trip Planner [ [link removed] ] in the coming weeks. 

 *March 30 service change highlights* 


* *Routes with schedule changes: *5, 10, 21, 28, 45, 56, 57, 75, 118, 119, DART 631, DART 914, RapidRide A Line and RapidRide H Line.  
* Vashon Island routes 118 and 119 will have new midday trips on weekdays to better connect to ferry service and meet customer demand during the midday.  

* *Routes that have changes to their bus stops: *153, 221, RapidRide F Line.  
* Route 221 will use new bus stops including Overlake Station, effective March 30 which will be served by Sound Transit 2 Line service beginning April 27. 

Bus ridership is growing across King County and Metro has capacity to meet increased demand. Starting Aug. 31, Metro will increase and improve bus service for Sound Transit’s future Lynnwood Link 1 Line expansion and the launch of the RapidRide G Line in Seattle.

Be a voice in shaping Metro’s paratransit mobility services, apply for the Future of Paratransit Mobility Board

King County Metro is planning for the future of its paratransit rideshare service, Access Transportation. This project is called Future of Paratransit and will shape the service for the next five to ten years. Metro is looking for those interested in having a role in this project to take part in the Future of Paratransit Mobility Board.

For the Future of Paratransit Mobility Board, Metro seeks community members that meet at least one of the following criteria.


* Current Access paratransit riders or caregivers to Access paratransit riders.
* Representatives of organizations that provide services to/or support Access paratransit riders.
* Representatives of organizations that support Access paratransit riders and/or potential riders who are linguistically diverse.
* A history of riding Access or providing transportation support to other Access riders (at least one-year of experience).
* Experience identifying transportation challenges of multiple Access riders (at least one-year of experience).

Being a member of the Future of Paratransit Mobility Board will require an approximate 1-year commitment beginning May 2024, meeting an average of 3 hours per month. *Dates and times will vary depending on project timeline and selected board member availability.*

Members of the Future of Paratransit Mobility Board are paid for their participation, a stipend of *$75 an hour* for their time, expertise, and any related transportation costs. Board members are expected to have regular access to email and access to a device (computer, phone, tablet) where Zoom or Microsoft Teams can be used.

Late-night weekend West Seattle Water Taxi sailings start Friday, April 19

A summer of activities is just around the corner, and the King County Water Taxi is ready to help you get to all of them!

The summer sailing schedule begins *April 15 *and will run through *October** 11.*  As we close out the current winter sailing schedule and prepare for summer, Water Taxi staff will temporarily suspend service over the *weekend of April 13-14* to conduct training and maintenance.

Service for the West Seattle Water Taxi begins around 6 a.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. on the weekends. The midday service remains in place, but our summer schedule includes the return of late-night sailings through 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, starting April 19.

*Additional Vashon Island sailings!* The Water Taxi also is looking forward to welcoming passengers for new midday service to Vashon Island on weekdays this summer, beginning on *Monday, July 1*. Information on the sailing schedule will be available in June.

Your voice is needed on improving transportation connections in south King County

As soon as 2026, Sound Transit will expand the Link light rail 1 Line to three new stations in Kent Des Moines, Star Lake and Federal Way. This expansion may also bring changes to ST Express buses in the project area. Metro is collaborating with Sound Transit [ [link removed] ] and other partners to develop a future transit network informed by feedback from communities.

The following Metro routes will be explored for potential changes as part of the South Link Connections Project: *RapidRide* *A Line, 121, 122, 123, 154, 156, 157, 162, 165, 177, 178, 179, 181, 182, 183, 187, 190, 193, 197, 631, 901, 903.*

We strongly encourage people with the following identities and lived experiences to apply: Black, Indigenous, and people of Color; immigrants and refugees; people who speak languages other than English; residents who are low-income or no-income; and people with disabilities.
