Friend, Federal Air Marshals (FAMS) are federal law enforcement officers, specifically trained in counterterrorism, who protect passengers and crew members from threats aboard commercial flights. The Biden Administration has diverted a record number of Federal Air Marshals to the Southern Border to perform administrative functions, leaving Americans unguarded on flights. This is unjustifiable and has created a concerning void in aviation security. Just last week, FBI Director Christopher Wray said terrorism threats to the U.S. have hit a “whole new level” following the October 7th attacks against Israel. Given these heightened security threats, as well as the Biden Administration allowing unidentifiable illegal immigrants with de facto fake IDs to board airplanes and fly across the country, it is extremely concerning that commercial flights are going unguarded. That's why I introduced the No FAMS at the Border Act. This bill will prohibit the Department of Homeland Security from deploying Federal Air Marshals to the border unless Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas certifies to Congress there is a crisis at the Southern Border. I will continue to push back against the Biden Administration's disastrous policies that jeopardize Americans' safety both on the ground and in the skies. It's time President Biden stops undermining border security, enforces the laws on the books, and puts an end to this security crisis he has created. Iowans have had enough and I have too. It is the perfect opportunity to recognize our hardworking farmers and producers who wake up before dawn and work until after dark to feed and fuel the world. From protecting Iowa farmers from overreaching rulings like California's Prop 12 to pushing for the year-round sale of E15, I will continue to be a strong advocate for Iowa farmers in Washington, DC and ensure the voices of rural America are heard. Biden's Obsession with EVs Has Gone Too Far On Wednesday, the Biden Administration took its final step to finalize their out-of-touch electric vehicle mandate that would eliminate most new gasoline-fueled cars in less than a decade. President Biden's obsession with electric vehicles has gone too far. Americans should be able to drive whatever car works for them, they shouldn't be forced to buy an expensive electric vehicle by President Biden just because he is catering to radical climate activists. This will hurt American autoworkers and drag down our economy while giving a boost to Communist China. I will do everything in my power to fight it and ensure Biden cannot achieve his ultimate goal of banning gas-powered cars. Watch my full video statement here. I will continue advocating for access to capital for families, farmers, and small businesses – especially those in rural communities! Iowa Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) Iowa has over 150,000 high school students enrolled in career and technical education programs. I enjoyed meeting with the Iowa Association for Career and Technical Education to hear about their work to bolster our workforce and prepare students for careers in the trades. National FFA Officers It was a pleasure to meet with National FFA Officers Emily Gossett and Kanyon Huntington, an Iowa native, to hear more about their work with FFA to serve and mentor the next generation of leaders in agriculture. Kanyon and Emily are both impressive young people and represent this incredible organization well on the national stage! Iowa-Nebraska Equipment Dealers Iowa-Nebraska Equipment Dealers Association represents hundreds of Iowa and Nebraska locations that sell agricultural, construction, and outdoor power equipment. I enjoyed meeting with their team this week to discuss the latest innovations in agriculture equipment and policies like my PRECISE Act that will expand access to precision agriculture tools for farmers!
