We have an urgent update, John:
We just learned that HHSC has proposed additional restrictions for transgender adults covered by Medicaid, now restricting all “prescription medications and surgical procedures used for the purposes of transitioning biological sex. ” This would mean the vast majority of transgender Texans with Medicaid would be denied coverage for their medically necessary, life-saving healthcare.
Can you support trans Texans by submitting a comment before 5 p.m. tomorrow [[link removed]] ?
What: Submit comments against anti-trans HHSC policy changes
When: ASAP! The comment period ends tomorrow (3/21) at 5 p.m.
We know this is short notice, so we've made it as easy as possible. Just fill out our advocacy form below to submit a pre-written comment to HHSC.

On HHSC's website, it says [[link removed]] , “ Texas HHSC ensures that policies are medically appropriate, patient-centered, transparent and based on the best available evidence. ” This change would go against everything they say they stand for.
Restricting care to any Texan is wrong, but continuing to target trans and gender-expansive people is cruel. Let's hold HHSC accountable and make sure they know that Texans believe trans people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect!
