John,

At least 60 percent of the drinking water in the U.S. is contaminated by toxic forever chemicals, according to the latest Environmental Protection Agency estimates. This is a crisis.

By sending a message to your elected officials, you can create a powerful force for change and push for stricter PFAS regulations. Take action for clean water in honor of World Water Day — urge your members of Congress to pass the PFAS Action Act.

John,

World Water Day is this Friday, and we’re counting on movement members like YOU to make an impact in the fight for clean water this week.

In the days ahead, we’ll be sharing ways to take action to fight for clean, affordable, water for all – starting with urging your members of Congress to support the PFAS Action Act.

Toxic chemicals called PFAS have contaminated the water supplies of communities nationwide, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has failed to protect the public. PFAS chemicals never break down and can be found in almost everything from water to food to fabrics, causing serious human health risks.

The PFAS Action Act would set clear definitions and deadlines for the EPA to set enforceable limits on all types of PFAS in drinking water and designate them as hazardous substances. It would also:

- Require the EPA to limit the industrial discharge of PFAS.
- Provide $200 million annually for wastewater treatment.
- Require PFAS health testing.
- List PFAS as hazardous air pollutants.

Clean Water Now!

Safe drinking water is a human right – it’s non-negotiable. We shouldn’t have to worry about whether our water is safe to drink.

It's time to address this huge threat to our drinking water. Urge your members of Congress to pass the PFAS Action Act.

Thanks for taking action,
