As we navigate this crisis, our first concern has to be the health of our neighbors. Calls by Republicans to sacrifice the elderly and the immunocompromised so that the stock market will go up are disgusting and should be disqualifying for any candidate for office. When we know that incompetence and short-sighted policy directly causes the death of Americans, that should be disqualifying too.
But here’s the hard truth: polls consistently show that about 50% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. You might ask, how is that possible?
As a professor, I’ve taught thousands of students about how our democracy functions. Let me make this abundantly clear – if we don’t educate voters about how Jeff Van Drew and Donald Trump have failed our nation and give them an alternative plan, they will win in November and continue to put our nation at risk.
That’s why we have to keep campaigning through this pandemic – and it’s why I need your support before our quarterly deadline on Tuesday night. Can you contribute any amount to defeat turncoat Jeff Van Drew and reverse these dangerous policies?
