It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to you today as we come to terms with the most recent developments in the loss of Nex Benedict (he/they), a nonbinary teen whom we recently honored on Zero Discrimination Day. Our thoughts are with Nex's loved ones during this tragic time.

This news serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for our collective efforts in supporting and protecting LGBTQ+ young people. Our research shows that 1 in 3 LGBTQ+ young people reported that their mental health was poor most of the time or always due to anti-LGBTQ+ policies and legislation.

In light of this tragedy, we want to emphasize the importance of open and safe conversations surrounding suicide and mental health, and the role of allyship in fostering supportive environments. To support you, we offer two essential resources:
