Dear MoveOn member,

"This is BS." That's how Rachel Maddow responded to the Supreme Court's
decision to shamelessly intervene to help Donald Trump win the
presidency.^1

Yesterday, the court overturned the Colorado Supreme Court decision
disqualifying Trump from the 2024 ballot.^2

And last Wednesday, the court intervened to help Trump avoid a conviction
for his attempt to overthrow American democracy.^3 The Supreme Court will
hear his outrageous claim of “absolute” presidential immunity from
prosecution for interfering in the 2020 election.^4

A federal appeals court had already ruled unanimously against Trump,
calling his actions, in a strongly worded opinion "an unprecedented
assault on the structure of our government."^5 But now the Supreme Court's
intervention could delay this most critical case until after the 2024
election—or derail the case entirely.^6

That means, if he were reelected, Trump would be able to direct the
Justice Department to drop the prosecution.

John, one thing is crystal clear: The Supreme Court will not
save our democracy or our nation from Trump. In fact, they're openly
enabling him.

That's why MoveOn has a powerful campaign to target the key voters in the
battleground districts who will decide this election and defeat Trump—but
our campaign is projected to cost $32 million, and as a grassroots
organization, MoveOn needs your help to finance it.

We've kicked off our $32 million plan to reach the millions of voters we
need to surge to the polls. Will you join our fight and donate
$5 a month to help save our democracy from the corrupt
Supreme Court and Donald Trump?

John, as The New York Times recently reported, elections are
"decided not only by those who cast votes but also by those who don't."^7

In the past, campaigns would target "swing voters"—voters who would vote
for Democrats in one election and Republicans in another.

But as our politics have become more divisive and polarized, the number of
swing voters has diminished significantly.^8

In their place, a different kind of voter has grown more important: one
who vacillates not so much between parties or candidates but between
voting and not voting.^9

A "nonvoter" can transform into a voter at any time—and if most of them
break in the same direction, their decision to participate can be
decisive.

And here's the important part: MoveOn knows exactly how to turn out these
exact voters in November.

For months, MoveOn's data science team has been crunching the numbers. And
our crack data scientists have identified 11 million "surge"
voters—Democratic-leaning voters who don't regularly vote—in battleground
states, who will make the difference between winning and losing this
November.

MoveOn will contact these voters through postcards, targeted ads, text
messages, phone-banking, and more, to tell them about the terrible
policies that Trump plans to implement and that we know those voters
disagree with.

Then, as the election nears in the fall, we will kick our get-out-the-vote
operation into high gear with our "vote tripling" program. Vote tripling
is an evidence-based tactic grounded in relational organizing—the idea
that people are much more likely to listen to their friends and social
networks than anonymous ads and outreach. Relational organizing has been
proven to be the absolute best way, by orders of magnitude, to not only
inform people but turn them into likely voters who will show up on
Election Day.

Will you help power and sustain our game-changing election work through
Election Day by donating $5 a month?

[ [link removed] ]No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

As a MoveOn member, you know that our very democracy is on the line this
year. You know we must do everything possible to stop a MAGA takeover.

And you know that MoveOn was built for this work: For more than a quarter
of a century, we've been the ones pounding the pavement and doing whatever
is necessary to get voters to the polls. We will succeed in November—if
you join the fight right now.

Please, help us engage and motivate voters in battleground states now
through November so we can turn them out on Election Day. Donate
$5 a month to MoveOn.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced
teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their
shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back,
including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right
has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility
of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to
stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA
politicians who support them, we need your help.

Will you start a monthly gift to power and sustain MoveOn's critical
work?
