Yesterday, the court overturned the Colorado Supreme Court decision disqualifying Trump from the 2024 ballot.²

And last Wednesday, the court intervened to help Trump avoid a conviction for his attempt to overthrow American democracy.³The Supreme Court will hear his outrageous claim of “absolute” presidential immunity from prosecution for interfering in the 2020 election.⁴

A federal appeals court had already ruled unanimously against Trump, calling his actions, in a strongly worded opinion "an unprecedented assault on the structure of our government."⁵ But now the Supreme Court's intervention could delay this most critical case until after the 2024 election—or derail the case entirely.⁶

That means, if he were reelected, Trump would be able to direct the Justice Department to drop the prosecution.
