Dear John,
We’re thrilled to announce today’s launch of Belonging Begins With Us [[link removed]] , a national campaign dedicated to fostering a more welcoming nation where everyone can feel that they belong, regardless of their background or where they were born.

As the past few years reminded us, our country is plagued by divisiveness, and immigration often is at the center of acrimonious debate. While the American Immigration Council is using legal and policy channels to push for immediate reforms, we know long-term changes are needed. We must create a cohesive America where all people are welcomed and included and where good immigration policy is embraced and can thrive.
The Belonging Begins With Us [[link removed]] campaign is an important step in that direction.
Through the Public Service Ads (PSAs), and complementary activities in communities, we, along with our partners, are striving to reach new audiences. The campaign reminds audiences that we all know what it feels like to be left out—and for people who move to this country, that feeling can last more than a moment. By highlighting this shared emotional experience, the PSAs spark empathy and are part of a broader effort to build stronger bonds between people who call America home.
The PSAs will appear nationwide in donated media across TV, radio, digital, print, and out-of-home placements.
Created pro bono by ad agency Pereira O’Dell, and directed by Andrew Hines, the PSAs feature a new cover of the 1968 hit song, “Walk a Mile in My Shoes,” recorded exclusively for the campaign by Boston-based band Lake Street Dive.
We invite you to visit and share the campaign PSAs, visit the website, BelongingBeginsWithUs.org [[link removed]] and our swag store [[link removed]] !
