Laken Riley. It’s a name you’ve probably heard over the last few days, but
sadly, not for the right reasons.



We should be celebrating her position on the dean’s list

University. We should be applauding her care and compassion for others, which
was on display when she chose to pursue adegree in nursing
<[link removed]>
. We should be talking about her role as aloving daughter and sister
<[link removed]>
.



Instead, we’re talking about a life cut short because of a monster who should
have never been in this country in the first place: an illegal alien who
weaseled his way in from Venezuela back in2022

. Keep in mind, he went on to be arrestedmultiple times
<[link removed]>
before this incident.



Why wasn’t he deported back then? If our leaders would simply follow the law,
Laken Riley would be alive.



It feels like our whole country has been turned on its head. For heaven’s
sake, we just let a bunch of illegal immigrantsbeat police officers

in the street and get away with it, free as birds. What’s up is down, what’s
right is wrong—and Democrats would soonerkick our kids out of school

, endanger our lives

, andgive away taxpayer money

than do the right thing.



How much more are we going to take, folks? We know the solution to the
problem: close the dadgum border.

When I’m not stuck in the hustle and bustle of Washington, there’s nothing
like being with you folks in beautiful East Tennessee.



Congress may indulge in pointless vacations

, like the most recent “winter recess,” but you can bet I always take that as
an opportunity to head home and talk with all of you about things that matter.



In Union County, I recently had the honor of being the keynote speaker at the
Reagan Lincoln Day Dinner
<[link removed]>, and it was
wonderful to gather with other conservatives who see a need for some big
changes in our country. I also had the chance to speak to a huge crowd at an
event inBlount County
<[link removed]> and even made a
stop at theStrawberry Plains Senior Center
<[link removed]> to discuss
issues that are important to those folks.



These moments spent with the East Tennessee community always serve as a solid
reminder of what I’m fighting for. Your unwavering support keeps me going
strong—and I can't express just how much it means to me.



Every time I return to our nation’s capital, your voices and priorities are in
the back of my mind. Despite the dysfunction of Washington, our mission
continues. Thank you for being the reason I do what I do!
