Here are some recent updates.
* New York's Independent Redistricting Commission passed ([link removed]) a new proposed congressional map for the 2024 election that makes only moderate changes to the state’s current map. The districts now head to the state Legislature for approval.
+ According to Senior Editor and Elections Analyst at the Cook Political Report, Dave Wasserman, “the net effect would be to diminish the competitiveness of New York's map, with a very slight benefit to Democrats.”
* Right-wing "election integrity" group True the Vote admitted ([link removed]) to a judge that it has no evidence supporting its claims of "ballot stuffing" in Georgia during the 2020 election and 2021 Senate runoff.
* A court in North Carolina held ([link removed]) oral argument in a lawsuit challenging the state's Republican-drawn state Senate map. Voters argue that the map violates Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act by diluting the voting power of Black voters.
