Black History Month is a time to reflect on Black excellence across the country, but especially the need to celebrate the Black leaders who have and continue to make so much progress.

I’m proud that Yvette has been a force for defending abortion access alongside the Democratic Women’s Caucus to urge the Biden Administration to take action to prevent the criminalization of pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. Earlier this year, she led the charge to encourage the Justice Department to end flawed predictive policing systems that only lead to more discrimination.

But Yvette stands on the shoulders of giants like Shirley Chisholm as one of the only 57 – yes that’s FIFTY SEVEN – Black women to have ever been elected to Congress.

Black women like Vice President Harris, Cori Bush, Jahana Hayes, and Barbara Lee are likewise leading in all areas of policy, from defending abortion to fighting food insecurity to challenging discriminatory policing practices and more.

We need more Black voices in Congress to lead the way. That’s why I’m emailing you.

For Black History Month, can you make a split donation between Yvette’s re-election campaign and Milk River PAC which supports Black Democratic women running across the country? [[link removed]]

As the only Black woman to represent New York in Congress, we can’t afford to lose Yvette’s voice!

Thank you,

Dr. Una S. T. Clarke
Yvette Clarke is the ONLY Black woman representing New York in Washington.
