NEWS DIGEST

by Brandon Waltens

Good morning,

For many, our colleges and universities have long been seen more as indoctrination centers for the radical left than institutions of higher education. But there is tantalizing evidence that those institutions will take notice when right-thinking alumni and donors speak out and demand action.

In the past couple of weeks, for example, the University of Texas at Austin has canceled its race-based graduation ceremonies [[link removed]] and dissolved a scholarship program benefiting illegal aliens [[link removed]]. Meanwhile, Texas A&M's board of regents voted to close its campus in Qatar [[link removed]] following an outcry related to national security issues.

The institutions of government—including universities—cannot be left on autopilot. Our republic demands an informed and engaged citizenry, which is why Texas Scorecard exists.

by Luca Cacciatore and Michael Quinn Sullivan

The Texas Republican Party’s State Executive Committee approved in a historic 55-4 vote on Saturday a resolution censuring House Speaker Dade Phelan of Beaumont. “When you empower Democrats, by definition, you disempower Republicans, and that been the record of Dade Phelan,” said Rinaldi.
