John,

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been kicking the can down the road to rein in factory farm air pollution for almost two decades.

It has the opportunity to finally require factory farms to disclose their dangerous emissions and inform communities about what is in the air they’re breathing — but instead, it’s considering keeping illegal exemptions for Big Ag on the books.

Enough. Is. Enough.

Our communities, water, and climate can’t wait any longer. Now, you have a chance to pressure the EPA to act.

The EPA is accepting public comments about whether to require factory farms to report their emissions of hazardous substances like ammonia, but only until February 15th. Will you tell the EPA to stop the foot-dragging and rein in factory farm pollution?

I urge you to rein in factory farm pollution and proceed with requiring farms to report their emissions of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. This is an environmental justice issue and a public health issue, as these hazardous pollutants can cause respiratory harm and other health ailments. Rural communities have been in the dark about the pollution they’re exposed to for too long. Stop caving to Big Ag and hold this polluting industry accountable.

Despite evidence that factory farms harm nearby communities, workers, and the climate, the EPA continues to exempt Big Ag from reporting emissions.

That’s why, along with allied organizations, Food & Water Watch is suing the EPA. You can help by adding your voice — tell the EPA to hold Big Ag accountable for factory farm emissions.

We’re committed to ending factory farming and transitioning to a sustainable and equitable food system. One that protects our air and water, ensures that small to mid-sized family farms can thrive, and treats animals humanely. So we’re saying enough! And you can, too.

Tell the EPA to require factory farm transparency now.
