History Month!
As we celebrate Black leaders and visionaries and their contributions to
building an American democracy rooted in equity and justice for all — we
must also acknowledge the very real injustices being committed in our
country today.
Led by far-right extremists like Ron DeSantis, we are seeing an
orchestrated attempt to rewrite our history right in front of our eyes.
[ [link removed] ]Add your name to urge Congress and the Department of Education to
denounce racist legislation from the far-right and protect African
American History.
Teachers have been silenced and fired as DeSantis makes good on his
promises to ban schools from discussing African American history and
LGBTQ+ rights. It’s shameful.
Black history is American history — and when Black history is under
attack, American history is under attack.
This Black History Month, let’s commit to fighting back against extremist
