John, Happy Black History Month!
As we celebrate Black leaders and visionaries and their contributions to building an American democracy rooted in equity and justice for all — we must also acknowledge the very real injustices being committed in our country today.
Led by far-right extremists like Ron DeSantis, we are seeing an orchestrated attempt to rewrite our history right in front of our eyes. Add your name to urge Congress and the Department of Education to denounce racist legislation from the far-right and protect African American History.
Teachers have been silenced and fired as DeSantis makes good on his promises to ban schools from discussing African American history and LGBTQ+ rights. It’s shameful.
Black history is American history — and when Black history is under attack, American history is under attack.
