First the big news: in case you missed it, we announced our new reporter, R=
achel Gilmore! We are THRILLED to have her onboard, and asked her to introd=
uce herself:
Hi! I=E2=80=99m Rachel, Check My Ads=E2=80=99 new investigative reporter. I=
=E2=80=99ve been a journalist in Canada for almost a decade, where I report=
on disinformation, extremism, and all-around bad guys. In that time, I=E2=
=80=99ve won a Press Freedom Award, pissed off some very angry grifters, an=

Eventually, though, I got a bit tired of always exposing a problem while ne=

Disinformation is one of the world=E2=80=99s biggest risks ahead of electio=
ns, reports say. But it doesn't have to be.
As we hurtle toward one of the most consequential election years of our lif=
etimes, major groups are warning of a huge risk on the horizon: mis- and di=
sinformation.
That=E2=80=99s according to the World Economic Forum and the Eurasia Group,=
which published separate but eerily similar reports on the biggest risks t=
he world faces as we head into 2024.
With disinformation fueling division, the Eurasia Group warned the upcoming=
US election will be =E2=80=9Ctesting American democracy to a degree the na=
tion hasn't experienced in 150 years and undermining US credibility on the =
global stage.=E2=80=9D
That disinformation isn=E2=80=99t coming out of nowhere. There=E2=80=99s a =
business model that fuels it =E2=80=94 the global adtech market, which is e=
xpected to be worth $2.9 trillion by 2031, according to Forbes.
Thanks to an almost-total lack of transparency in this industry, disinforma=
tion is profitable. But that doesn=E2=80=99t have to be the case. That=E2=
=80=99s why we formed this community dedicated to cutting off the flow of c=
ash to those who sell hate.

Disinformation is one of the world’s biggest risks ahead of elections, reports say. But it doesn't have to be.
As we hurtle toward one of the most consequential election years of our lifetimes, major groups are warning of a huge risk on the horizon: mis- and disinformation.
That’s according to the World Economic Forum and the Eurasia Group, which published separate but eerily similar reports on the biggest risks the world faces as we head into 2024.
With disinformation fueling division, the Eurasia Group warned the upcoming US election will be “testing American democracy to a degree the nation hasn't experienced in 150 years and undermining US credibility on the global stage.”
That disinformation isn’t coming out of nowhere. There’s a business model that fuels it — the global adtech market, which is expected to be worth $2.9 trillion by 2031, according to Forbes.
Thanks to an almost-total lack of transparency in this industry, disinformation is profitable. But that doesn’t have to be the case. That’s why we formed this community dedicated to cutting off the flow of cash to those who sell hate.

First the big news: in case you missed it, we announced our new reporter, Rachel Gilmore! We are THRILLED to have her onboard, and asked her to introduce herself:
Hi! I’m Rachel, Check My Ads’ new investigative reporter. I’ve been a journalist in Canada for almost a decade, where I report on disinformation, extremism, and all-around bad guys. In that time, I’ve won a Press Freedom Award, pissed off some very angry grifters, and built a following reporting news directly to my followers on social media.
Eventually, though, I got a bit tired of always exposing a problem while never offering a solution. That’s what Check My Ads does: we disrupt the business of hate. That’s why joining this team is a natural next step in my career.

Disinformation is one of the world’s biggest risks ahead of elections, reports say. But it doesn't have to be.
As we hurtle toward one of the most consequential election years of our lifetimes, major groups are warning of a huge risk on the horizon: mis- and disinformation.
That’s according to the World Economic Forum and the Eurasia Group, which published separate but eerily similar reports on the biggest risks the world faces as we head into 2024.
With disinformation fueling division, the Eurasia Group warned the upcoming US election will be “testing American democracy to a degree the nation hasn't experienced in 150 years and undermining US credibility on the global stage.”
That disinformation isn’t coming out of nowhere. There’s a business model that fuels it — the global adtech market, which is expected to be worth $2.9 trillion by 2031, according to Forbes.
Thanks to an almost-total lack of transparency in this industry, disinformation is profitable. But that doesn’t have to be the case. That’s why we formed this community dedicated to cutting off the flow of cash to those who sell hate.
