Welcoming Jennifer Reyes and Eusebio Perez, appointed by the Governor, to serve until January 2028. Additionally, Representative Mike Wiener joins the board, appointed by the House of Representatives to represent the Republican seat.

MCLA is proud to introduce our new resource hub, specially designed to address the growing needs of newcomers in Minnesota. This initiative springs from years of inquiries about community resources, and now we're delighted to offer a comprehensive, vetted list of valuable tools and information.

* This resource was created in response to the increasing needs of newcomers to Minnesota and frequent requests for community resources.
* Our goal is to continuously expand the resource categories and enhance the user experience. This urgency led us to launch the hub quickly, with vital warming shelter information prominently featured for this cold winter.

"One Dream, One Minnesota" week long event, hosted by the Office of Equity, Opportunity, and Accessibility, was a resounding success in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s enduring legacy. The week-long celebration brought together diverse voices and talents, highlighting the state's commitment to equity and community.

*Event Highlights*:


* MCLA was proud to host a table at the inaugural "Achieving the Dream" conference at Metro State. The event was elevated by an insightful keynote from Dr. Yohuru Williams and showcased incredible community engagement.
* The state's career fair over the weekend witnessed an impressive turnout, reflecting our community's eagerness for growth and opportunity.
* The celebration's culmination was at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts with an engaging fireside chat between Caroline Wanga and Houston White. The evening was further illuminated by the stirring performances of North Minneapolis' Fellowship Church choir and students from FAIR Crystal school, leaving attendees inspired and uplifted.
* Wrapping up the event, Henry Jim?nez was one of the recipients of the Champion of Change Award for his exemplary leadership at the Latino Economic Development Center and his impactful community work.

This series of events not only paid tribute to Dr. King but also embodied the spirit of unity and progress he championed.?

MN Department of Health | Toxic Free Kids Program

Seeking Community Leaders and Health Professionals for Needs Assessment ||?Convocatoria a l?deres comunitarios y profesionales de la salud para evaluaci?n de necesidades

The Toxic Free Kids Program at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is conducting a needs assessment to identify areas of need and prioritization for the program. Through the Toxic Free Kids (TFK) program, MDH is working to identify and communicate the potential for hazardous chemical exposures which could be harmful to human health, particularly to vulnerable or susceptible populations, such as children and pregnant women.?

Currently, the TFK program is looking to *conduct twenty key informant interviews with community leaders or health professionals* who have experience working with parents/caregivers, families, pregnant people, and children. We anticipate completing these interviews in the spring.?The key informant interviews conducted in this needs assessment will inform ongoing projects and future work for our program.

The key informant *interviews will take place virtually* and should take *no longer than 30-50 minutes.*
