Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter   Have questions? Contact Me Here   Protecting the Sanctity of Life We must continue to defend the lives of children in the womb and stand up against the radical pro-abortion, anti-life agenda pushed by the Biden administration and the radical left. It is an honor to receive SBA’s highest rating on their national Pro-Life Scorecard; it further reiterates my commitment to defending the unborn and supporting expecting and new mothers. In 2024, I have already led multiple legislative efforts to ensure Congress protects and supports expecting mothers and their born and unborn babies. My bill, the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, which prohibits the Biden administration from limiting the ability of states to spend Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds on pregnancy centers, passed the House by a vote of 214-208 last week. I also introduced the Unborn Child Support Act to enable expecting mothers to receive child support payments during pregnancy. I will always stand up for the unborn and fight to protect the sanctity of life! View my scorecard and learn more about some of my legislative initiatives to protect life here. ICYMI: I'm Working to Keep Donald Trump on the Ballot I recently joined over 175 Members of Congress in sending an Amicus Brief to the Supreme Court calling for the overturning of Colorado's decision to remove President Trump from the ballot. The Colorado Supreme Court's attempt to remove President Donald Trump from the ballot is weaponization of our government and a gross misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment. Following Colorado's unconstitutional decision, Maine's Secretary of State single-handedly decided to remove the former President and Republican frontrunner from the ballot. I am beyond confident that the Supreme Court will reverse both these dangerous decisions and restore confidence in our self-governing Constitutional Republic. READ MORE: Rep. Claudia Tenney supports effort to keep Donald Trump on Colorado ballot We Must Impeach Secretary Mayorkas and President Biden for their Failures! Since President Joe Biden took office, there have been 8 million illegal border crossings nationwide. At our Southern Border, thousands cross each day, yet the Biden administration is refusing to restart border wall construction or restore law and order at our border. Texas has been left to its own devices and is trying to defend its border against an invasion and a lawless President. Here in New York, instead of addressing this crisis plaguing our resources, Mayor Adams and Albany Democrats are dumping more taxpayer dollars into this crisis to incentivize more illegal immigrants to come to our state! Taxes are continuing to rise, and our far-left liberal governor, Kathy Hochul, has allocated an additional $2.4 billion of your tax dollars to host these migrants. This crisis sits squarely in Mayor Adams, Albany Democrats, and the Biden Administration's hands. Secretary Mayorkas and President Biden's repeated failure to implement the laws of our country and keep our communities safe is grounds for impeachment, and I am eager to vote for this on the floor of the House of Representatives in the upcoming weeks. WATCH MORE: Texas is trying to defend its border against a lawless president: Rep. Claudia Tenney Standing with NY-24's Law Enforcement Officers Over the past few years, law enforcement officers have faced unprecedented challenges with rising violent crime and the left’s efforts to undermine officers’ ability to safely do their jobs. This week, I hosted a roundtable discussion in Watertown to provide a forum for local law enforcement leaders to discuss the issues impacting law enforcement officers and problems facing our community. I want to thank the law enforcement leaders that participated in the event: New York State Trooper Robert Simpson, Customs and Border Patrol Patrolman in Charge Andrew Reagan, Watertown Chief Charles P. “Chip” Donoghue, New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOBA) Vice President Bryan Hluska and NYSCOBA Associate Jason Combs. I was also joined by many local elected officials, including Assemblyman Scott Gray, Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush, Jefferson County Legislative Chair Bill Johnson, Watertown Mayor Sarah Compo Pierce, and representatives from the office of Senator Mark Walczyk. Thank you to all of the public servants who attended this roundtable event and participated in the robust discussion on how we can combat the growing crime crisis in our nation and support brave law enforcement officers. I remain committed to ensuring that our law enforcement officers who serve our community have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively and keep our nation safe. This will allow the Iroquois Job Corps Center to help Niagara County students learn critical trades, such as bricklaying, carpentry, and electrical work. I will continue fighting for the Job Corps program and oppose efforts to eliminate their funding. The Job Corps program has helped countless individuals in NY-24 and the nation live fruitful and productive lives through skills and trades. I am grateful to have a Job Corps Center in our district, and I thank all the wonderful staff at the Iroquois Job Corps Center for their tremendous work.
