Defending The Lone Star State 💪🏼

I told you earlier this week about a ridiculous decision that came down from
theSupreme Court
<[link removed]>
.

To refresh your memory, they foolishly sided with the Biden administration’s
policy allowing Border Patrol agents to slash through Texas’razor wire
<[link removed]>
installed along the most dangerous areas of the southern border.

As far as I’m concerned, Texas leaders have no other choice. Our federal
government has all butabandoned
<[link removed]> our
border states—leaving them to fend for themselves in the middle of a nightmare
that is getting worse by the day.

If you don’t believe me, take a look at the numbers below. Spoiler alert: they
don’t lie!

* Migrant encounters at the border reached a whopping all-time high
<[link removed]>
of 302,000 in December
* 600,000 ‘gotaways’
<[link removed]>
weaseled their way past border agents and into America last year alone
* We could be on the hook for $451 billion
<[link removed]>
to care for these illegal immigrants
I’m not going to sit around and let this all unfold without a fight.

Like so many others, I’ve expressed my support
<[link removed]> for Texas Governor
Greg Abbot, encouraging him to hold the line—and now I’m co-sponsoring a bill
that will help.

Representative Mike Collins (R-Ga.) is leading the charge for us, introducing
the Restricting Administration Zealots from Obliging Raiders(RAZOR) Act
<[link removed]>
. It would ban the government from trashing any state-constructed barrier
that’s being used to keep illegal immigrants out of this country—and that’s
exactly how it should be.

Governor Abbott’s actions aren’t political theater; they’re a desperate
attempt to do his dadgum job and protect his citizens from aninvasion
<[link removed]>
of massive proportions. I plan on standing firmly to ensure he has what he
needs to fight for his state’s sovereignty.

Winter Weather Hero ❄️

Old man winter threw everything he had at Knoxville over the last week.

This latest winter storm packed snow, ice, and frigid temperatures that made
it tough to get around, but fortunately, aGood Samaritan
<[link removed]>
stepped up to lend a helping hand.

Charles Weaver has a sturdy Jeep Wrangler with rugged tires made for bad
weather and off-roading, which is why he gave it the nickname, “Spartacus.” He
figured he’d post on a local Facebook group to see if anyone needed help
getting around in the storm, and sure enough, the requests kept rolling in.

Charles saved the day for about 70 people stuck in their homes. Whether it was
a nurse who needed to get to work or someone in desperate need of grabbing
groceries, Charles and Spartacus were there to help.

Another great show of that Volunteer State spirit we all know and love!
