Today would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade , and we’re reflecting on what that means for Kansans. Unlike many of our sister states in the Midwest and South, we never lost the right to abortion . Our people and our state constitution stand for freedom and personal liberty.

But we stay vigilant, even as we celebrate our steadfastness. We’ve already seen how anti-abortion forces in Kansas try to ignore the will of the people by contesting the amendment election results [[link removed]] and introducing abortion bans in the legislature [[link removed]] . We expect more anti-abortion legislation to be heard in Topeka in the coming weeks. Maintaining our rights requires that our coalition of “no” voters keep growing.
