Greetings John, 

Today would have been the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and we’re reflecting on what that means for Kansans. Unlike many of our sister states in the Midwest and South, we never lost the right to abortion. Our people and our state constitution stand for freedom and personal liberty. 

But we stay vigilant, even as we celebrate our steadfastness. We’ve already seen how anti-abortion forces in Kansas try to ignore the will of the people by contesting the amendment election results and introducing abortion bans in the legislature. We expect more anti-abortion legislation to be heard in Topeka in the coming weeks. Maintaining our rights requires that our coalition of “no” voters keep growing.
