Right-wing media has been smearing progressives and progressive policies
for years. We saw it ramp up on Fox News after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
won in 2018.

Since then, Fox, Ted Cruz, Tucker Carlson and the rest of the GOP
extremism media machine have created loads of propaganda about American
cities in particular, especially as progressives filled city councils and
mayors offices. Right-wing rhetoric is anti-immigrant, racist, and
fear-mongering, using buzzwords like “sanctuary cities” to scare its
viewers.

Republicans have been wielding local power with the support of big money
special interests for decades, but Our Revolution is organizing to take
back local power and deliver real change at the level of government
closest to people’s lives. Last year, we helped elect a progressive
supermajority in St. Louis and Mayor Brandon Johnson in Chicago — and now
we’re rolling out powerful progressive slates for 2024 in cities like
Sacramento and San Francisco.

In St. Louis, our progressive champions immediately got to work — rolling
out a universal basic income pilot program and taking up the fight for
tenants, countering big money and real estate developers who look to
profit from a housing crisis.

In Chicago, Mayor Johnson worked directly with Our Revolution and our
movement to end the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers.

This is what we can accomplish when we mobilize, organize, and break
through the propaganda and deep pockets of the right-wing. And we’re ready
to do it again this year with progressive slates in San Francisco,
Sacramento, Alameda County, and plenty more to come across the country.

But we’re up against the extreme GOP, big money corporate special
interests, Fox News, and a Democratic Party that needs to be completely
transformed. We can only continue our work, and make 2024 a successful
