More than 78% of Americans do not support a Donald Trump
administration.^1 They just don't realize it yet.
Despite Trump's seeming popularity in the polls, when people are asked
about his signature policy for his next administration—being able to
unilaterally fire government workers without cause—just 1 in 5 are on
board.^2
That's not all. His proposal to give the president control over
independent agencies and watchdogs like the Federal Communications
Commission and the Federal Trade Commission? A mere 18% are with him on
that.^3 Allowing the police to trample the Constitution? Only 1 in 4.^4
It turns out that no matter what the political affiliation, people just
don't want to trade in our democracy for an authoritarian government. But
mainstream media isn't focusing on what the Trump administration will look
like—they'd rather rake in advertising dollars by focusing on the horse
race and nastiness among Trump and the other candidates.
MoveOn's commitment in 2024 is to sound the alarm about Trump's MAGA plan
to dismantle our democracy and the MAGA government-in-waiting preparing to
hit the ground running on Day 1, fueled by tens of millions of dollars in
dark money.^5 We are ready to leverage our vast social media reach, our
MoveOn Mobilizers, and our election machine to get the truth out and
defeat Trump and MAGA this November. But we can do it only with your help.

It would be easy to brush off Trump's authoritarian declarations as the
wishful thinking of a wannabe strongman—if it weren't for the vast
right-wing network backing his program.
The so-called "Project 2025" has already spent more than $20 million on
preparing for Trump's transition to power, including recruiting thousands
of hard-right lackeys who have been vetted and are ready to do Trump's
every bidding in government offices from the first day.^6
Project 2025 also has an 800-page blueprint for a government based on
Christian nationalism and a dismantling of civil rights. "We are writing a
battle plan, and we are marshaling our forces," Paul Dans, director of
Project 2025 at the Heritage Foundation, said last year. "Never before has
the whole conservative movement banded together to systematically prepare
to take power Day 1 and deconstruct the administrative state."^7
John, we simply cannot let this authoritarian movement take

We know that the majority of voters are not in favor of an authoritarian
government. The problem is, while CNN is focusing on a Republican primary
that is not in the least competitive, the true crimes against democracy
Trump has committed (and is planning to commit!) are falling out of the
limelight.
MoveOn is taking that spotlight back.
* We are putting into motion a massive digital and television
advertising campaign—including during Trump's criminal trials. Trump
will use all the attention to spin lies and campaign propaganda, which
is why we have to push back with the truth.
* We are leveraging our huge social media reach with a hard-hitting
education campaign about the most unpopular policies Trump has
promised to his donors, including a full embrace of
authoritarianism and further erosion of our freedoms and rights.
* We are centering communities whose rights have been decimated by Trump
policies—from women, girls, and trans and nonbinary people who can get
pregnant losing the right to abortion to people of color having their
vote suppressed—to show just how dire the threats to our nation are.
John, we need to raise every voice possible if we're going to
defeat MAGA authoritarianism. The truth will win out—if we put the
