That's not all. His proposal to give the president control over independent agencies and watchdogs like the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission? A mere 18% are with him on that.3 Allowing the police to trample the Constitution? Only 1 in 4.4

But mainstream media isn't focusing on what the Trump administration will look like—they'd rather rake in advertising dollars by focusing on the horse race and nastiness among Trump and the other candidates.

It would be easy to brush off Trump's authoritarian declarations as the wishful thinking of a wannabe strongman—if it weren't for the vast right-wing network backing his program.

The so-called "Project 2025" has already spent more than $20 million on preparing for Trump's transition to power, including recruiting thousands of hard-right lackeys who have been vetted and are ready to do Trump's every bidding in government offices from the first day.6

Project 2025 also has an 800-page blueprint for a government based on Christian nationalism and a dismantling of civil rights. "We are writing a battle plan, and we are marshaling our forces," Paul Dans, director of Project 2025 at the Heritage Foundation, said last year. "Never before has the whole conservative movement banded together to systematically prepare to take power Day 1 and deconstruct the administrative state."7
