Additionally, the fund provides grants that enhance school nursing practice and improve school-affiliated healthcare delivery. Moreover, it also offers scholarships to school nurses interested in pursuing advanced nursing practice degrees and certifications. I am excited to share that the 2024-2025 NASN President's Endowment Challenge theme is "Advocating for Equity." School nurses are uniquely positioned to advance health equity for students and their families. Your contribution, no matter how small, can help reduce health disparities, promote equity, and improve school nursing practice. Thank you so much for joining us in this meaningful cause and advocating for our students and our practice. Kate King, DNP, MS, RN, LSN NASN President Better Health. Adolescents with Functional Seizures in the School Setting Adolescents with functional (psychogenic nonepileptic) seizures experience school-related struggles, and school nurses play a critical role in the management and response. The JOSN article, Adolescents' Perceptions of School Nurses' Role in Functional Seizures at School, answers the question: What are adolescents' perceptions of school nurses' role in managing and responding to functional seizures at school? JOSN is an excellent vehicle for translating research to practice and seeks manuscripts that bring new perspectives and innovations to school nursing. View the submission guidelines.
