Stand Up for Reproductive Freedom

======================================================================

Dear John.

January 2024 is the 51st anniversary of the landmark 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which established the constitutional right to abortion. But that all changed in 2022 when the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to safe, legal abortion. The fight didn't end there--NOW needs your help to win victories for reproductive justice this year.

Since that decision, our movement has helped achieve pro-choice victories in seven states--California, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Montana and Vermont--where abortion rights have been on the ballot.

However, the threat to women's reproductive rights is growing. As we rapidly approach the pivotal 2024 elections, the issue of abortion rights has emerged as a defining factor.

All of our state-level successes will be meaningless if anti-abortion forces win the White House and gain full control of Congress in November--paving the way to achieving their ultimate goal to criminalize abortion nationwide.

And abortion access is on the ballot in dozens of states in 2024, putting the issue front and center in a key election year. Voters in several battleground states may decide on state constitutional amendments either enshrining or restricting reproductive rights. We're looking for people like you to help ensure we advance reproductive justice—not turn back the clock!

With control of the White House and Congress at stake, the referendums could help mobilize turnout from both supporters and opponents of abortion rights. The ballot measures would significantly shape the legal and political landscape of abortion as the post-Roe era continues to unfold.

Given the high stakes, I hope that NOW can rely on your support today to leverage our abortion rights momentum for 2024.

In Solidarity,

Christian F. Nunes
