In just nine days, the world is celebrating the International Day of Clean
Energy for the first time ever.

The United Nations established the International Day of Clean Energy as a
day all about moving towards a just and inclusive energy future centered
around people and the planet, not around corporate greed.

This is significant. The climate movement has been calling for a just
energy transition away from fossil fuels for years, and the United Nations
– one of the most powerful organizations in shaping our future – finally
acknowledged the urgent need to act on the climate crisis by dedicating a
special day to it.
