** Instructor Spotlight
------------------------------------------------------------
I became an Instructor because I truly believe in STOP THE BLEED®’s purpose and campaign.
In today’s world, we unfortunately witness an increasing number of events that lead to mass loss of life, and the first few minutes of intervention are the most crucial.
Becoming a Stop the Bleed instructor is such a significant step towards enhancing emergency preparedness by recognizing the critical importance of immediate and effective bleeding control to save lives.
As an instructor, I have the opportunity to teach others not only lifesaving skills, but also to stress the importance of remaining calm and offering reassurance in the most stressful of times. I try to instill confidence and empower individuals to act swiftly and decisively.

By spreading awareness about the importance of immediate bleeding control, we are equipping communities with the tools to respond effectively in the face of crisis.
Compassion and understanding lie at the heart of this training as well, so my role as a Stop the Bleed instructor extends beyond mass casualty events. Bleeding emergencies can occur in various everyday situations, such as car accidents, industrial accidents, or even at home. By training individuals in bleeding control techniques, it ensures that people are prepared to respond to any emergency, no matter the scale, and the beauty of it lies in the simplicity of making it accessible to everyone. I even teach the basic skills to some of our fifth grade students. They thrive in having the knowledge to help in times of emergency, both here and at home.
My decision to become a Stop the Bleed instructor enhances my 30+ year medical career of service dedicated to saving lives and making a difference. I love teaching this class because I truly believe in its mission by imparting knowledge and skills to others, building resilient and prepared communities, and equipping them to take immediate action to save lives in the most challenging circumstances.
Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat! The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

“I am passionate about STOP THE BLEED® because I have 2 family members that have died from blood loss in their extremities. The idea that their deaths could've been prevented if people had been able to stop the bleeding effectively in the field still haunts me. That's why I want to make a difference and help save more lives and spread the word about STOP THE BLEED®. Additionally, I run a medical and healthcare organization that I can then help spread the word about STOP THE BLEED® to and really expand the knowledge of my community to save more lives hopefully.”
