By spreading awareness about the importance of immediate bleeding control, we are equipping communities with the tools to respond effectively in the face of crisis.
Compassion and understanding lie at the heart of this training as well, so my role as a Stop the Bleed instructor extends beyond mass casualty events. Bleeding emergencies can occur in various everyday situations, such as car accidents, industrial accidents, or even at home. By training individuals in bleeding control techniques, it ensures that people are prepared to respond to any emergency, no matter the scale, and the beauty of it lies in the simplicity of making it accessible to everyone. I even teach the basic skills to some of our fifth grade students. They thrive in having the knowledge to help in times of emergency, both here and at home.
My decision to become a Stop the Bleed instructor enhances my 30+ year medical career of service dedicated to saving lives and making a difference. I love teaching this class because I truly believe in its mission by imparting knowledge and skills to others, building resilient and prepared communities, and equipping them to take immediate action to save lives in the most challenging circumstances.
