We need your help and support
Everyday volunteers provide vital services. We need extra help right now. Sign up with Action Together ([link removed][UNIQID]) and they will identify opportunities for you in your area. This is for things like helping at a foodbank during the emergency.

Schools and 'early years' settings
Schools, colleges and early years settings will be closed from today for most children until further notice. They remain open to provide care for a limited number of children.
This is for children whose parents are key workers and cannot be safely cared for at home
and children with social workers and Education, Health and Care Plans.
Who is a key worker? ([link removed][UNIQID])
Please note that if you are a key worker with a child who is 0–5 years old, and you need child care ([link removed][UNIQID]) , a list of potential providers can be found here.

All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards.

Housing
Our scaled back Housing Options ([link removed][UNIQID]) service is open for people in need of housing advice and support. Only priority cases are being dealt with in person in Access Oldham.

No tenant – whether social or privately renting – will be forced out of their home during this difficult time. Speak to your landlord or mortgage lender if you are worried or struggling to make payments.

More information for renters, landlords and homeowners will follow shortly on the website.

Bin collections
We are prioritising general rubbish and food collections. There is some disruption
to paper and recycling collections.

Put all bins out for collection as normal. If we don’t empty them on your scheduled collection day take them back in and put it out again on your next collection day. We cannot collect additional waste by the side of your bin.

Bulky Bob collections ([link removed][UNIQID]) will take place as normal from households where bulky items
can be placed outside for collection.

Importantly – jobs which require items to be taken from inside a property are cancelled, with a full refund given, unless you can place the items outside.

Any additional waste cane taken toArkwright Street Household Waste Recycling Centre ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

Libraries
Currently the following libraries are open until 5pm during the week:
* Oldham Library and Lifelong Centre

* Failsworth Library
* Lees Library

There will be no group activities or gatherings held at this time.

This may change but we will keep you up to date ([link removed][UNIQID]) .
