If the polls are right, Donald Trump will win by a huge margin tonight. I don't need to explain why this is a problem. There are four indictments that do it better than I can.

But here's what these results are telling me: The Republicans in power are getting more extreme. In the past 8 years, we have seen Trump's corrosive influence on our state's politics. But we can stop this problem before it gets any worse.

Iowans deserve a state government that works for them, brings opportunities to our community, and invests in our children. But Kim Reynolds and the Republicans who control the state capitol are not interested in working for us.

Last year during the legislative session I fought tooth and nail against their egregious public education cuts, abortion bans, and gun rights expansions. But despite the efforts of Democrats in the House, Republicans got everything they wanted and more.
