Last week, Elise Stefanik, the chair of the House Republican Conference, and fourth-ranking House Republican was asked on live TV if she’d certify the election results if Donald Trump lost.

Her answer probably won’t surprise you:

“We will see” is basically code for “only if Trump wins.”

After 60+ court cases that ruled Trump lost the election, two independent firms that investigated the election and found no evidence of fraud, and an insurrection that Stefanik herself was hiding from in a Capitol bunker, the Big Lie still has its grip on the GOP.

139 House Members, including Stefanik, voted to invalidate the 2020 election. And with the GOP-led anti-democracy movement growing since, we can expect this number to grow if the 2024 election goes wrong for Trump.

Our BEST line of defense from the GOP is strong, Democratic Secretaries of State who will stand up for the will of the voters – no matter how the election shakes out.
