Parts of the schedule are locked in and other parts are still very fluid, but all options are going to be HUGE. When the Convention Team has the details locked down, we will share that information immediately. Until then, I encourage you to buy your convention and Saturday night dinner tickets at the early bird price as there will be a CONSIDERABLE price increase when Early Bird registration closes on 01/12/24 (TODAY!) at 7 pm. Please take advantage of the early bird pricing! Here are the currently available details: FRIDAY The Friday evening event will be at an off-site venue, to be announced next week, from 6:00 - 8:30 pm and it’s going to be a “Kansas Winter BBQ”! Adam Thomas, Kansas State Representive, will be performing live and the Kansas Republican 3rd Congressional District candidates have been invited on stage. And you will have the opportunity to visit with friends and make new ones from across the state! There is no cost for this event however convention registration and payment is required and there will be a check-in at the venue. Attire for this event is Kansas-casual (jeans, boots/comfy shoes, Carharts, hats, etc.) and you will want to bundle up. This is a large indoor heated venue and we are taking a short 15-minute road trip to rural Johnson County (yes, we have rural JoCo areas!) and “Baby, it’s cold outside”! Transportation to and from the event is each attendee’s individual responsibility so please plan accordingly. There will be evening receptions occurring at the hotel upon your return, beginning at 830 pm. Convention credentials are required to attend all events. See credentialing details below. SATURDAY All Saturday activities will be inside the host hotel, the Overland Park Marriott. The hotel check-in is just inside at the large south portico main entrance. Follow the KSGOP signage upon entry for convention credential check-in location. The Saturday convention and events will look familiar to conventions of the past however we have some fun changes planned. There will be a full day of training and informational presentations you do not want to miss! For your safety, and peace of mind, there will be law enforcement present at this event. Vendor booths will be on site. Please stop by each table and say hello! These folks WANT to talk to you! NOTE: This is going to be a great event and you will travel home very pleased with what you've learned and accomplished! Everyone attending the Convention, including those walking the corridor areas, must purchase and wear official KSGOP Winter Convention credentials for the safety of all attendees. Those without credentials will be escorted to the check-in desk to purchase credentials or they will be asked to exit the building immediately. No exceptions. Credential purchases day-of will be substantially more expensive so please plan accordingly. CREDENTIAL CHECK-IN Check-in for credentials on Friday will be available at the Overland Park Marriott from 3:30-5:30 pm and then at the event venue from 6-7 pm. The room block reservation registration is now open (see below) and is available for the nights of January 26th and 27th. Please plan for overnight stays on Friday and Saturday nights as there will late evening and early morning events! All Overland Park Marriott guest rooms have been recently renovated and are available in single-king or double-king configurations. The hotel is also newly renovated, and this will be a first-class experience.
