Message From The President







Happy New Year! As we kick off 2024, I reflect on the hard work demonstrated by Young Democrats across the state. As we expand on our impact and build up young leaders, I could not be more proud of the dedication and success that has shone through.



Now, we enter a new year with the continued opportunity to make a difference and advocate for issues that impact young people and our communities. I charge you to get involved and be the change you wish to see. We will continue to provide training, resources, and information on opportunities as we stand firm in our democratic values.

New Voter Empowerment Act







On Thursday, January 4th, New Jersey joined the ranks of a select group of states that allow 17-year-olds to vote in elections!



Signed by Governor Phil Murphy, the New Voter Empowerment Act allows voters who are 17 years old to vote in a primary election if they turn 18 before the general election in November.



“At a time when our politics is polarized and when too many people stay home on Election Day, it is time to engage and empower a new generation of voters so that they may have a say in the future of our great state,” said Democratic Senator Andrew Zwicker, who first introduced this bill.



What a huge win for young NJ voters all across the Garden State!

Want to become a presidential delegate? Join us, in partnership with the New Jersey Democratic State Committee Emerging Leaders Caucus, on Wednesday, January 17th at 6pm to learn about the 2024 DNC Convention Delegate Selection Plan and the application process.

January Young Dem of the Month







Congratulations to our January Young Dem of the Month, Ruth Delgado! Ruth currently serves as our talented New Jersey Young Democrats Co-Creative Director.



Ruth is a first-generation college graduate from the Catholic University of America, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Post-graduation, Ruth immersed herself in the nonprofit sector, consistently dedicating her efforts to empowering underrepresented voices, particularly from immigrant communities akin to her upbringing. Currently, she holds the position of Digital Media Manager at America’s Voice, where her creative prowess comes to life as she crafts digital content to advance the organization’s mission. Additionally, Ruth also serves as the Communications Chair on the New Leaders Council - New Jersey Board.



Ruth's journey exemplifies dedication to advocacy, representation, and inclusivity. Congratulations, Ruth, and thank you for your impactful contributions to our community!
