Flooding expected...   City of Auburn, Maine. Upcoming Events   NEWS FROM AUBURN, MAINE   AUBURN: FLOODING EXPECTED The Androscoggin River is expected to reach record levels by noon on Wednesday, December 20th. Impacted flood areas include low-lying areas of N River Road, Newbury Street, & Riverside Drive. The City of Auburn strongly recommends evacuating these areas. Other localized flooding is also expected. Please limit unnecessary travel within the city. If you choose to remain in your home, you should monitor water levels on an ongoing basis as they may rise rapidly and unexpectedly, making it difficult or impossible for responders to reach you in an emergency. If you are without power, you can charge your devices at the following locations: Norway Savings Bank Arena (985 Turner Street) until 10:00PM this evening. Arena will reopen at 8:00AM Wednesday, 12/20. Auburn Public Library (49 Spring Street) 9:00AM-6:00PM (12/20) Auburn Senior Community Center (48 Pettengill Park) 8:00AM (12/20) A free overnight shelter has been established for Auburn and Lewiston residents at the Ramada Inn, 490 Pleasant Street, Lewiston. Please bring identification with you, and a crate for any pets. If you need transportation to the shelter, please call: 333.6670.
