Hi friend, it’s Don Davis.
A lot has happened since we last spoke. With your help, we won this race back in November. I am so grateful to all of you for the role you played in the tremendous victory, and we have been able to roll up our sleeves, and get to work for all constituents in the first district of North Carolina.
And yes, the race to keep this seat in 2024 is already well underway.
This past week, we were announced as an official member of DCCC's 2024 Frontline program -- a group of 29 candidates in the most competitive seats in the country. [[link removed]] This decision to focus on NC-01 once again shows what we've known all along: eastern North Carolina is worth fighting for.
Throughout my time in elected office, I have always made a point of working across the aisle to deliver solutions to all constituents — and that has remained evident in my recent time in the U.S. House of Representatives. I have worked with my colleagues to put farmers first, advocate for solutions to longstanding health care inequities, bring resources back to our district, and so much more — and guess what? We're just getting started.
I am grateful for the vote of confidence given with this Frontline announcement, and I don't plan on taking it for granted. We are battle-tested, and ready to face the challenges ahead.
We have a lot of work to do together, and I will be relentless in my focus on impacting Eastern North Carolina in real ways. We will continue to prioritize the kitchen-table issues impacting all of our families, regardless of political party, and we will do it together.
