LULAC Joins OraPharma and Alex Rodriguez to Raise Awareness for Gum Disease
===========================================================================

Dear LULAC Familia,

We have some thrilling news that is bound to bring smiles to millions of Latinos
across the United States and Puerto Rico. LULAC is joining forces with OraPharma [ [link removed] ] ,
a leading specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to supporting the oral
health of our community, to raise awareness for gum disease. The partnership
includes LULAC’s involvement in an exciting new initiative called “Cover Your
Bases,” which features patient ambassador and World Series Champion, Alex
Rodriguez, affectionately known as ARod. Our mission is clear – to combat gum
disease, a condition affecting more than 65 million Americans, with an
exceptionally high prevalence amongst Latinos. Our mouths serve as a gateway to
overall health, and it's high time we tackle this issue head-on.

LULAC, in collaboration with OraPharma and ARod, aims to inspire you and everyone
in your circle to learn more about gum disease and how to improve oral health.
Gum disease is a bacterial infection that manifests itself through noticeable
symptoms like bleeding during or after brushing and the presence of red or
swollen gums. We must engage in open conversations about this concern because gum
disease may be linked to an increased risk of other chronic conditions throughout
the body, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, both of which can
disproportionately affect the Hispanic community.

Rest assured, LULAC is wholeheartedly committed to partnering with OraPharma and
ARod in this nationwide educational outreach campaign to ensure our loved ones
receive the care they need. ARod himself knows firsthand the importance of early
detection. "Fortunately, my dentist diagnosed my gum disease early,” said
Rodriguez. “By sharing my story, I hope to inspire more people to speak with
their dentists, especially considering the higher prevalence of gum disease in
men and within the Latino community.”

Many people think that a good oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing can
treat gum disease, but that’s not the case – gum disease can happen to anyone.
For individuals with gum disease, it is important to explore comprehensive
management options.

The “Cover Your Bases” campaign aims to help fight gum disease through awareness
and education, and we invite you to join us on this journey to promote oral
health awareness and improve the well-being of our community. It's time to rally
together, share our stories, and embrace the power of education. Let's ensure
that every Latino in the United States and Puerto Rico has the knowledge.

Get ready for an exciting and dynamic campaign that will unite us all in the
fight against gum disease. With ARod and OraPharma, we will “Cover Your Bases”
and keep our community smiling!

In solidarity,

Domingo Garcia
LULAC National President
