Team,

This week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to protect Americans and our environment from harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals, also known as PFAS.

PFAS are man-made chemicals that don’t naturally break down. This means we are responsible for cleaning them up and changing how we manufacture goods to prevent more PFAS from entering our ecosystem, making the problem even worse.

The PFAS Action Act would:

*
Establish
a
national
drinking
water
standard
for
select
PFAS
chemicals,
*
Designate
PFAS
as
hazardous
substances
under
the
EPA’s
Superfund
programs,
*
Limit
industrial
discharge
*
Provide
$200
million
annually
to
support
the
PFAS
clean-up
process
in
communities
across
the
nation

PFAS is an urgent public health and environmental threat. We need to act now. Will you join me today by signing my petition to show your support for the PFAS Action Act? [[link removed]]
