Team,
This week, I introduced bipartisan legislation to protect Americans and our environment from harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals, also known as PFAS.
PFAS are man-made chemicals that don’t naturally break down. This means we are responsible for cleaning them up and changing how we manufacture goods to prevent more PFAS from entering our ecosystem, making the problem even worse.
The PFAS Action Act would:
- Establish a national drinking water standard for select PFAS chemicals,
- Designate PFAS as hazardous substances under the EPA’s Superfund programs,
- Limit industrial discharge
- Provide $200 million annually to support the PFAS clean-up process in communities across the nation
PFAS is an urgent public health and environmental threat. We need to act now. Will you join me today by signing my petition to show your support for the PFAS Action Act?
If you have been following my work, you know I have been working diligently for years to tackle our nation’s growing PFAS crisis. By working across the aisle and listening to your concerns, I believe we can come together to protect Americans and save our environment from these dangerous “forever” chemicals.
Please stand with me and sign my petition today to show your support for the PFAS Action Act: secure.ngpvan.com/6hlZ8zoheE-SGxZw9WsXqw2
Thank you for your support,
– Debbie
