Happy Holidays ❤️

Dear Friend,

Happy Holidays! From our village to yours, wishing you a happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season.

We know that the holidays can be a time of mixed emotions for many. Joy and happiness and sadness and grief often coexist and can be magnified at times like this. And, for many survivors of trauma, the holidays can be even more difficult with mounting pressure and potential triggers. We asked Wendy Blanco, POV's Director of Counseling Services & Trauma Recovery, to share some holiday self care and wellness tips.
Our year end theme this year is "It takes a village." At POV we have created a village where we offer wraparound services to survivors of violence and their families. So much of what we do at POV relies on us working across programming and within our teams to help serve our community best, connecting with people and meeting them where they are. We're telling stories of our work and our impact with our communications this month, and we hope you are following along.

------------------------------------------------------------
By Amanda Musa | CNN

Many Americans think of school shootings as mass casualty events involving an adolescent with an assault-style weapon. But a new study says that most recent school shootings orchestrated by teenagers do not fit that image — and they are often related to community violence.
