Dear Challenge Success Community,
As we come to the end of 2023, we are filled with gratitude for our Challenge Success community and the critical changes being made in school systems to promote well-being, engagement, and belonging for all students. We recently gathered in-person as a staff to reflect on the past 20 years of our work and where we are headed; overwhelmingly, our team was full of energy for the year ahead, fueled by our partner schools, the students we support, and the families who have joined us in this movement. We shared stories of how our SPACE Framework for School Change ([link removed]) has been used over the years to have positive impacts on students across the country, and we engaged in deep discussions about the future of learning, A.I., and belonging.
At the same time, our hearts are heavy with the challenges that face children around the world. Far too many young people are struggling on many different levels, yet we remain hopeful for a future that offers them safety, peace, and the opportunity to thrive.
Wishing you a season filled with playtime, downtime, and family time ([link removed]) ,
Megan Pacheco and the Challenge Success Team

New article in the New York Times
Based on our initial research, A.I. tools like ChatGPT did not boost the frequency of cheating in high schools. Let’s not stop the conversation there. What schools really need to know is that cheating is a symptom, not a root cause.
In case you missed it, you can also purchase our recent A.I. in Education workshop recording ([link removed]) to learn more and get concrete strategies for your classroom or school.

Leaning into Belonging in 2024
Belonging, well-being, and engagement are inextricably linked. If a student doesn’t have one, it affects the others. Join us virtually on January 11th for an insightful conversation and leave with concrete strategies for your home and school to improve student belonging in the new year!
You can also purchase a pass ([link removed]) for your school’s entire parent and faculty community to attend. The Pass includes registration and recording, publicizing materials to share about the event, a facilitation kit with materials to prepare for the workshop, and an optional post-event meeting with Kimberly Cawkwell, one of the panelists.
