Dear John,
With new and protracted conflicts driving the number of refugees higher than ever before, hope can sometimes seem in short supply.
But refugees can’t afford to give up on their futures, and neither can we. That’s why UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is organizing the second ([link removed])Global Refugee Forum (GRF)([link removed]) from 13-15 December.
It's a chance for refugees, governments, international organizations, civil society, the private sector and many others to join forces, pledge action and help people forced to flee, as well as the communities that host them. The GRF([link removed]) will plot a path from despair to hope, and from hope to action.
The first GRF ([link removed])in 2019 brought together over 3,000 participants and resulted in 1,700 pledges for positive and sustainable change. Aya Abdullah was one of the refugee speakers at that event, and in this video she explains why, four years later, there is still a lot more to be done with new allies, new partners, and new ideas.“Believe in us, invest in us, and you will see, we will all be stronger for it,” says AyaRefugees will be at the centre of discussions and decision-making at the GRF ([link removed])in Geneva, but we’re relying on your help to create a truly global impact. Your continued support and engagement will help turn commitments into life-changing action.
The GRF ([link removed])will show that change is possible, you can find out more about how it all started here([link removed]).Follow us for news and inspiring stories ahead of the GRF.
