Dear John,
With new and protracted conflicts driving the number of refugees higher than ever before, hope can sometimes seem in short supply. But refugees can’t afford to give up on their futures, and neither can we. That’s why UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is organizing the second Global Refugee Forum (GRF) from 13-15 December. It's a chance for refugees, governments, international organizations, civil society, the private sector and many others to join forces, pledge action and help people forced to flee, as well as the communities that host them. The GRF will plot a path from despair to hope, and from hope to action. The first GRF in 2019 brought together over 3,000 participants and resulted in 1,700 pledges for positive and sustainable change. Aya Abdullah was one of the refugee speakers at that event, and in this video she explains why, four years later, there is still a lot more to be done with new allies, new partners, and new ideas.
