The Untapped Truth: Bottled Water Contributes to our Climate and Water Crisis
We’ve known for years that bottled water is for our ecosystems and undermines access to affordable drinking water. But did you know that the plastic from water bottles drives more dirty fossil fuel production and exacerbates the water crisis?
In our new research, The Untapped Truth: Bottled Water Contributes to Our Climate and Water Crises, Food & Water Watch Senior Researcher Ben Murray outlines how the plastics, water, and climate crises are inextricably linked. You can read an overview in this web article or get the nitty gritty details and citations in our research piece

ON THE GROUND
The New York state fracking ban is under attack.
In 2014, New York banned fracking after a years-long grassroots effort to protect our communities, water, and health. Those hard-won protections are now under threat, as a Texas-based company is trying to get around the ban by proposing to frack with carbon dioxide (CO2) instead. Fracking of any kind is dangerous and has no place in our energy plans – that’s why we’re calling on Governor Hochul to come out against Southern Tier Solutions’s CO2 fracking scam. Read more about this fight here.

GET INVOLVED
Biden's Lead Water Proposal is Progress — But Still Not Enough
The EPA proposal would require full lead service line replacement for most systems. While this proposal lays out an ambitious vision for clean water, it requires a deeper commitment to provide the funding necessary to make it a reality.

Congress must step up and pass the WATER Act to provide a permanent, dedicated source of federal funding at the level that EPA says is necessary to comply with federal water quality regulations.

Power the Movement for our Planet by Sharing Your Story!
“Stories are memory aids, instruction manuals, and moral compasses.” ― Aleks Krotoski
We’re all impacted by threats to our food, water, and climate, and it’s important to share our stories to remember we are not alone and remind others that change is possible.
From the fourth-grade teacher whose fears about climate change keep them up at night to an activist who marched as a child with their family for farmers' rights – our stories show the world that even though we might be impacted or take action in different ways, we’re all working together to protect our loved ones and the health of our planet.
Share your story to help us power the fight for justice and truth
