Friends,

As the number of cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been rising across the country and here in Louisiana, we wanted to share some information about the virus and how we can work together to prevent further spread.

The Louisiana Department of Health has established a website with dedicated, up-to-date information about the coronavirus. [[link removed]] Those in Louisiana can also dial 211 with questions or concerns about the coronavirus. Information is also available by texting the keyword LACOVID to 898-211.

While the risk to the public currently remains low -- we can all take some basic steps to prevent the further spread.

It is currently flu and respiratory disease season, and flu activity is still high and expected to continue for a number of weeks. Take steps to avoid spreading germs from any respiratory diseases by:

- Getting a flu vaccine and taking flu antivirals if prescribed.
- Covering your cough.
- Staying home if you are sick.
- Washing your hands.

We can all do our part during this challenging time to help keep our communities safe.

Thanks,

The Team at A Stronger Louisiana
