As the number of cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been rising across the country and here in Louisiana, we wanted to share some information about the virus and how we can work together to prevent further spread.

The Louisiana Department of Health has established a website with dedicated, up-to-date information about the coronavirus. Those in Louisiana can also dial 211 with questions or concerns about the coronavirus. Information is also available by texting the keyword LACOVID to 898-211.

While the risk to the public currently remains low -- we can all take some basic steps to prevent the further spread.

We can all do our part during this challenging time to help keep our communities safe.
