Hi John,
Are you Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, or a person of color? And disabled, Deaf or hard of hearing, Mad or ill? And are you trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming? Have you had a chance to check out the Disabled & Deaf Trans People’s Survey (DTPS)?
Already, almost a thousand people have taken this survey! This is incredible. We want to make sure even more BIPOC Disabled and Deaf trans community members share their experiences.

The survey is important for me as a Black, non-binary, trans femme navigating my own health. Due to ableism and anti-Blackness and transphobia, rarely do I get the space to name the parts of myself that need more support, or the parts of myself that bring sorrow or joy.
Often, trans people are left out of disability discussions and disabled folks are left out of trans narratives. This survey not only gives visibility and a platform to trans disabled folks, it arms our communities with data and research necessary to organize ourselves.
You can take the survey in English, Spanish or ASL with closed captions. You can listen to each question by pressing play on the audio box underneath the question. There are a few open ended questions throughout the survey. For these questions, you can choose to type your answers or upload an audio file.
I know a lot is going on and things are rough out there—yet our experiences matter! If you can, please take the time to share your perspectives and truths with us in this groundbreaking survey.

If you aren’t BIPOC, disabled, Deaf, and trans or gender non-conforming, you can help us reach community by forwarding this email to a friend who is. Forward this email along or share our Instagram account @disabilityproject.tlc [[link removed]] with community members so they can learn about this ground-breaking survey.
We know from the National Trans Survey that findings from this survey will be seen by so many folks in positions of power who make decisions about our lives and our access to resources. Participation, far and wide, will help so many communities.
Thank you for your support!
